Development of Seastop port Bromarv

East of Mariehamn and 20 miles east of Kasnäs you reach Bromarv village port. It is the easternmost port in the Turunmaa archipelago. Here you can buy local food directly from fishermen, farmers and gardeners. The local groceries shop is open all around the year. In 2018 the harbor was enlarged with new quayside, car park, deeper basin, petrol station and a new café.

With support from Seastop the port gets 60-70 new moorings by floating jetties, water and electricity supply on pontoons, more toilets and showers and other gest harbour service as well as childrens play ground.

Seastop aims

The Seastop project will improve the service level in 21 small ports along historic seaways in the Stockholm, Åland and Turunmaa archipelago. Around 300 new mooring places onfloating jetties will be installed. Toilets, showers and new sewage treatment systems will be developed and the supply of activities enlarged.

Seastop funding

Seastop is co-funded with 3.1 million euros from the European Regional Development Fund and co-funded with 1 million euros from local and regional authorities in Sweden, Åland and Finland. The project is a joint cooperation venture between Municipality of Värmdö, Town of Mariehamn, Enterprising Archipelago, Bromarv Village Council and Peterzéns Ltd.
